Day one!

Hobart to Bangkok…the boring bit 🙂

Day starts well with a 4am jangling alarm and a shuffle to the sky bus with two heavy bike boxes and a couple of stripy bags to check in.

First setback of the day…we apparently have to pick up our luggage at Bangkok- Bleh! Not what we were planning with 16 hours to kill there before the flight to Siem Reap…ah well we’ll work that out later!

Then, after our meticulous wrapping and taping of the bike boxes, we had to unpack them for inspection at the oversize checkin counter- thankfully they had more tape for us to re pack

Banana bread on the plane didn’t make Neil too happy either but it hit the spot for me!

Bike boxes arrived at Bangkok intact, yay! So far so good. Found a luggage storage spot at the airport, dumped off the bikes and then found a place to stay near the airport instead of sleeping under the elevators- win win for me!

A Changi beer and a taste of Thai chili to cap off the day 🙂
