Day 6…It’s rural!

Day 6 on the road and somewhere around 55 kms today.

We were aiming for an early start… but last night’s dinner made us a little tardy this morning 😄

Let’s just say…we’ve got the gist now, that “spicy” as pertains to Thai food really is just that. We reckon there could have been a kilo of hot chillies in our food last night – delicious, but we both paid for it!

Hit the road thinking we’d find some coffee on the way… but it seems that by avoiding the highways we also avoided anything remotely like a food or drink stall! It was 40km before we found a coke and an ice cream to tide us through…

But what a lovely rural ride. Few vehicles, few houses even, lots of farmers, cows, and rice planting in full swing up this way.

Closer to town we struck a bit of highway but our cycle app took us on some interesting back roads… a canoe would have been handy for some of them…

Found a handy place to stay on the outskirts of Roi Et – a fairly large town and we had a lovely explore this afternoon. A large tower (101 m high) graces the centre and we paid $2.50 each to go up to the top- fabulous views all round!
