Li to Tak

A couple of flatter days!

Day 27 -Li to Sam Ngao, 122 km

A mostly down hill day, with really scenic riding through the mountains, losing most of our altitude along the way 🙂 A most enjoyable morning!

Riding along the flat it was much hotter than we’ve seen for many days… a bit of a shock to the system and many drink stops needed.

Interesting riding and a bit of a departure from Thailand’s manicured roads for a bit ( even had to duck under a makeshift fence) but all part of the fun 🙂

Took a little detour off to “Sam Ngao” to check out the dam and find some accommodation, thinking we’d call it a day in the mid afternoon. Somehow it happened to be the Queen mother’s birthday or something similarly important and every Thai family must have decided to spend the weekend at Sam Ngao too…so we lucked out on finding somewhere to stay near the dam. Backtracked…and eventually found a perfect little guesthouse for next to nix.

Day 28… a nice short day! 50 km to Tak

Took it easy today, both feeling a little saddle weary! So we stopped at the riverside town of Tak and having a relaxed afternoon, might check out the night market for food a little later!
